(Dress and shoes: Topshop; Bag: Sophie Hulme)

Alongside the ability to wear a cute dress without faffing around with jackets, one of the things I do love about summer is the ability to cut right down on your daily essentials and switch to small bags. I loved this Sophie Hulme one last summer and so glad I can get it out again, to give my hard-working little Cambridge Satchel Company one a rest.

Greek Goddess

(Dress: Monki: Jacket: M&S; Sandals: Topshop; Bag: Cambridge Satchel Company)

I ADORE this dress! Perfect for exploring some Grecian ruins while dressed like one, or enduring a hot summers' day.

Matching orange lipstick, a lazy ribbon in the hair to offset a wild hair day and the opportunity to wear my favourite blazer means I'm quite pleased with these photos too.

Fall Feelings

(Jacket and trainers: Topshop; Dress: ASOS; Bag: Cambridge Satchel Company)

When, even though it's the season of bright colours and pinstripes, you get the urge to put a favourite dress back on.

Star Spangled

(Top and trousers: Zara; Trainers: Topshop; Bag: Cambridge Satchel Company)

Accidental 4th of July outfit, complete with utterly brilliant Gucci-esque star-spangled trainers!

Coming Up Roses

(Top: Zara; Jeans: ASOS; Sandals: Topshop; Bag: Cambridge Satchel Company; Bracelet: Bendels' Ring: Tessa Metcalfe)

Just a lovely 'tunic' for lovely summer days.

Shirt Dress

(Dress: ASOS; Jacket: Topshop; Sandals: Dorothy Perkins; Bag: vintage; Ring: Tessa Metcalfe)

Ahhh the shirt dress. Finally warm enough to get the legs out and stride around a warm city.

Good Directions

(Top: Zara; Skirt: ASOS; Jacket and sandals: Topshop; Bag: vintage; Belt: old; Jewellery: Bendels and Thomas Sabo)

Good old summer sales unearthing gems I would have missed the first time round. I really love this top - ticks the blue striped box as well as the interesting cut box. Goes perfectly with this old pencil skirt I was still able to squeeze into. No running in it, mind...

Gucci Guilty

(Shirt, shoes and jacket: Topshop; Skirt and belt: ASOS; Bag: vintage)

It's me, your average Gucci rip-off girl. And you know what? I rock this.

Sweet Stripes

(Dress: New Look; Jacket: M&S; T-shirt: Gap; Bag: Cambridge Satchel Company; Sandals: Topshop; Watch: Michael Kors; Jewellery: Bendels)

Dresses that look like deckchairs are a do. I made the mistake of buying this one a size bigger to make it looser around the hips, which was definitely an error. Gotta do some adjusting...

Bomber Two Ways

Does what it says on the tin - two great jackets, two great photos, two great looks.

(Jacket: Topshop; Skirt: M&S; Sandals: Dorothy Perkins; Bag: vintage)

(Jacket and skirt: Topshop; Trainers: Adidas; Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs)

Tough Summer

(Dress: New Look; Top: Gap; Sandals: Topshop; Bag: Cambridge Satchel Company; Jacket: M&S old)

Toughening up a cute sweet summer dress with black accessories and dark lipstick - the only way I know how to do.

Crinkle Cut

(Top: Dorothy Perkins; Trousers and sandals: Topshop; Jacket: M&S old; Bag: Cambridge Satchel Company; Watch: Michael Kors; Jewellery: Bendels)

I really love the whole crinkle-cut fabric trend for the summer. It seems so light and breezy and club-wear-esque and fun. I still harbour an incredible hatred for these terrible trousers - overheat central, VPL central, show-up-water-stains central...just bad news for summer. But first thing in the morning and if you don't intend to sit in hot offices all day, they're alright I guess?

Also quite fond of sticking this ribbon in my hair - good for hiding hair in need of a trim.
